Spooky Haunted Locations You've Never Heard Of!

California - Elverta

This desolate street named Dyer Lane in Elverta, near Sacramento, California has a history of murders, suicides, deadly horrific accidents and paranormal activity. It's believed that the KKK met here during the 1930s and conducted lynchings. People have reported seeing apparitions of a gaunt, disheveled man wearing fatigues and of a police officer who died under mysterious circumstances while driving down this road.  


California - Yermo

The Calico Ghost Town is located in San Bernardino county. Calico was a small mining town that popped up during the Siver Rush. People have witnessed floating balls of light, lights going on and off within the town when no one is there, and apparitions. There is now a campsite located within the town cemetery. Campers have reported strange paranormal occurrences ranging from being touched at night to having bruises and bite marks in the morning. 


Connecticut - Mansfield

The Univerisity of Connecticut has an off-campus location called the Depot Campus located nearby in Mansfield. The building opened in 1860 and was formerly called the Mansfield Training School and Hospital. It was home to those with developmental problems, epilepsy, and mental disorders over the years. It basically became an asylum with stories of abuse and poor conditions until being shut down in 1993. The paranormal activity witnessed here includes dark shadow spirits, disembodied voices, and orbs. 


Nevada - Wells

The Old West Inn (formerly Wild West Inn), built in the 19th century, is about 45 miles from Elko in the historic Old West town of Wells. There has been a lot paranormal phenomenon at this small hotel, casino, and lounge. Visitors have seen the apparition of a man, lights turning off and on by themselves, and they hear disembodied voices. The apparitions of two dogs are said to haunt the upper floor of the hotel.


Idaho - Athol

Farragut State Park is reportedly a hotbed of paranormal activity. It was once a Naval base and German POW site. Allegedly, a German soldier was chained inside one of the cells in the Brig and left to die after intense interrogations. Full bodied apparitions have been seen in the jail and objects move by themselves. This location is also said to have had at least one murder and one suicide during WW2. Many state employees working there have seen the apparition of a balding man in some type of uniform. Others report objects flying across the cells.


Nebraska - Fremont

If you enjoy picnics with ghosts, be sure to stop by Barnard Park in Fremont Nebraska. The park was once used as a camp for Mormons on the Mormon Trail. At least one Mormon is known to have died while camped there. Before the park was constructed, this location was a cemetery. When the city moved the cemetery, they left bodies behind and they are still there under the feet of visitors. Paranormal activity and apparitions have been reported, including a crying woman.
