A CIA informant boasted about meeting Adolf Hitler in Colombia – 10 years after the Nazi leader was thought to have died. Declassified files show that in 1955 the CIA’s Western Hemisphere Division received a secret memo with the subject line: Operational – Adolf Hitler.
A station chief in Venezuela received the tip from one of his informants – that Hitler was alive and living Argentina. The informant was contacted by a former SS trooper who claimed to have been in touch with Hitler, masquerading under the name Adolph Schuttlemayer.
